Meet the Voices Behind the Stories!

Asha Adansi is a 17-year-old Black girl who attends Bentley High School, and is a Guest Writer for A Black Girls Perspective. She hopes her writing serves as representation for an overlooked narrative and brings attention to the lack of available research around Kayayei women. Her writing is a combination of personal observation, research, peer review, and original analysis.
Abeni Rabiu is a high school Nigerian-American writer who enjoys sharing stories that reflect her West African heritage and celebrate Black culture. Through her writing, she aims to raise more awareness about the challenges Black Americans face and help uplift her community. She embraces the power of story telling to inspire change, explore her creativity, and honor what it means to be young, gifted, and Black.
